I’ve been a lover of art and nature since I was a little kid. Somehow I knew there was something deeper happening when I sat in the woods or made art for hours on end. This eventually led me to learn how to create similar kinds of transformational experiences for others.

Nicole Speropolous web picI received a Bachelor of Arts in Art Therapy from Emmanuel College in Boston, MA and a Master of Arts in Art Therapy from Southwestern College in Santa Fe. I’ve been working in the mental health field as a counselor and art therapist since 2003. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, National Board Certified Hypnotherapist, Registered Art Therapist, and Certified Health Coach.

My approach is focused on helping adults who have experienced trauma and/or depression, anxiety, relationship changes, and physical health conditions. I am trained in the Trauma Resource Method, which is somatic practice that helps people to heal from trauma, and Rapid Resolution Therapy (aka Rapid Trauma Resolution) which utilizes hypnosis to shift and heal trauma, depression, anxiety, guilt, shame, addictions, etc. In addition to working with adults, I meet with children who have experienced trauma, are have difficulty with managing emotions and behaviors, or are coping with divorce or death of a loved one. I also help parents to understand how to best support their child.

One of my interests is in how food and lifestyle habits affect mental health. For years I struggled with my own health issues and used the Body Ecology Healing System to recover my health. While researching my own challenges, I began to learn about the role that nutrition plays in influencing our moods. I started asking the people I was meeting with about their eating habits and discovered that most of them were eating a lot of processed foods; high in simple carbohydrates and very few fruits and vegetables.

This is when I decided to receive some formal training in health coaching so that I can now educate, support, and empower people to make good decisions for their physical and mental health. Now I enjoy helping people who struggle with various physical ailments, mental health symptoms or who just want to increase their energy and feel better in their bodies.
